New Scenic Ideas

I just wanted to post a little note here to let you know new materials have been posted on the scenic tab.  It is a long scroll down to the new stuff, but it is there.

How do I get all my crap onto the Lighting Tab?

Incidentally, Megara is the name of a city in Attica, key in the Pelopenesian war.
Megara the city "claim(s) the credit of producing the first comedy," (from Louis Lord's Aristophanes; His Plays and His Influence.)
Lord claims "the comedy of Athens was born of these two elements, the phallic songs of fertility and the Dorian mime, whose introduction made the plot possible."

This is DaVinci's Bacchus/Dionysus.  He is androgynous here, and this is the one I pictured reading Frogs.

Bridge of death. Thought this was a good image for a softer classical look to a funny scene with fog. It doesn't have to be bright.  This is what I meant by---what are we going for???

Do we want a classical, gradient color, subtle, realistic palette OR

Brightly lit blocks of color like the game show stuff?

Can we commit to one or the other for a production whole, or are some scenes like this and others like the Price is Right? These are hugely different styles, and I can't yet tell from the discussions and thumbnails which we are committing to.

Wheel of Fortune

I included this photo because of the mix of lighting style between the wheel area and the theatrical house lit with the tree gobo on its roof to the left.  It's kind of a cheesy mix of lighting style. To me, pretty awful, what not to do? For lighting and look,  I would like us to choose between styles rather than incorporate many. This is yuck.

Following the "Formal Meeting" on 7/20, Denise, Karen, Deb and Sue discussed color and style a bit more. We also established that the donkey will be a funny schtick costume !!!

Karen and Sue also talked about carrying the black outline idea over into the scenic elements, and after noodling around with research the following pics can make the case for both sides.....
